You didn't think I'd never come back, did you?
Mood: Fine, thank you. Song: The Perfect Crime No.2, The DecemberistsHello! I suppose you've been wondering where I've been. Well, it's a little thing called high school. Anyway, semester one is officially done for the year, including two final exams written and finished (and I feel oh so good about that Math final). So now that I'm two days through my five day weekend, I thought I'd drop by and leave a post. Wasn't that nice?
Yesterday I watched The Hour and Ed and Steve from the Barenaked Ladies were on (though Diffy already told me)! They were talking about this cool product, where you can purchase memory sticks that plug directly into one's computer through USB, and contains their new CD. It's one of their methods to bringing around new technology (because lets face it; the CD is becoming increasingly unpopular) and a small step to saving the planet; because CDs get used once to rip music, then lie around. At any rate, I really agreed with what they had to say. I can imagine it's an idea that's been around for a long while, but record companies are too hesitant to try it because there is no protection on the music. But Ed is right; once you pay for the music, you don't want restrictions. Sharing music is the best way to spread the word about the artist or band. And besides, music can never be completely protected. People will download music off the internet for free anyway (especially if you can't get music off a CD onto your mp3 player). It's also a step toward my vision of a completely CD-free world, where you take your portable mp3 player to any store that sells CDs today, plug it in, and purchase the music you want. That way, less materials are used to produce CDs that end up going to waste any way. And I can't wait to go to the Barenaked Ladies concert on February 9th!!! I am so excited, I just want to sleep all through the next two weeks. And who knows, I may buy one of those memory sticks if they're sold at the concert.
In other news... I recently found out some info on the upcoming Airborn movie. *is excited* Rumours say that Matt Cruse (the main character of course) may be played by Liam Aiken. You know, the supposed-to-be Harry Potter (but we're so used to Daniel, he's better), and he starred in the movie, A Series of Unfortunate Events (based on one of my favorite book series, of course). I am actually quite excited that he may be playing the part, I like the kid. I do remember, though, looking at the cover of the Airborn book and thinking that Matt looked just like a boy in my grade, Joey (they shared quite the unusual expression, too). Wow, Differs and I laughed a lot over that. Moving on, a much more recent rumour indicates that the lovely Kate de Vries may be played by Emma Watson. I just have to laugh out loud. Because she'd be absolutely perfect for the part. I mean, Hermione and Kate have very similiar personalities. I'd be that much more impatient for the movie if this rumour is true. And it apparently comes out in 2008. That's a year! Hey, I've waited an entire year for Kalan Porter's second CD (and still waiting...), I can handle this.
Hmm, I think that's about it for any exciting news. I should sign off, because I need to awake early tomorrow morning, because the family is heading to the brand new Walmart located 20 minutes away. Haha, it sounds silly, but we're all excited for it. DO NOT JUDGE ME!
Enjoy your weekend, my few readers! ;-)
